As the new year is coming, it is a perfect time to specify your running plans for the first half of 2017. If you are looking for great value for money opportunities, Poland emerges as an interesting destination with two of its spring highlights – Gdynia Half Marathon and DOZ Marathon Lodz – offering lower entry fees by December 31, 2016.
Both races are AIMS members and both are acknowledged by the European Athletics and the IAAF, with Gdynia Half Marathon holding IAAF Road Race Bronze Label certificate and DOZ Marathon Lodz being even one step higher with its Silver Label status. This guarantees the highest organizational standards.
In addition to this, athletes can benefit from various extra services, incl. tour operator support, medal engraving, finisher photos etc. Finisher medals are included in the price on both races. In the starting kits, athletes will also find an official t-shirt in Lodz and an official backpack in Gdynia. Both included in the entry fees.
Lower entry fees of 79 PLN (ca. 18 EUR) are available only by the end of December 2016. Beginning from January 1st, 2017, the fees will increase to 89 PLN in Gdynia and 99 PLN in Lodz.
About Gdynia Half Marathon
Gdynia Half Marathon debuted in 2016, becoming one of the biggest half marathons in Poland in the first year. The highest organizational standards as well as the attractive run course make the race really outstanding. Gdynia Half Marathon is the official Polish candidate to host IAAF World Half Marathon Championships in 2020.
Gdynia itself is reffered to as 'the city made of dreams and the sea'. Located at the Gdansk Bay, the city is known for its love for sports as well as its dynamically developing cargo port. It is always a popular holiday destination which comes as no surprise as Gdynia is 'the sunniest Polish city', according to a scientific research.
Gdynia Half Marathon will take place on March 19th, 2017. Currently, there are more than 3.100 registered athletes. A relay competition and kid runs are on schedule, too.
About DOZ Marathon Lodz
DOZ Marathon Lodz is one of the most prestigious marathon races in Poland, certified with the IAAF Road Race Silver Label and the European Athletics' Five Star Quality Road Race certificate. The race will take place on April 23, 2017 in the city of Lodz, located in the heart of Poland and very well communicated with other regions of the country as well as the whole western Europe.
The marathon race is accompanied by a 10k run, as well as short races for kids, activities for whole families and an expo. The course leads through the main streets in the city center and the multimedia finish area is located in the Atlas Arena.
